The temperature is riding, but anyone who wants a taste of winter can track down the guy with the Santa hat.
Call it Christmas in July.
The Moonshine Gang has dressed up in a different theme every year for RAGBRAI.
They’ve been cowboys and pirates and this year they are Santa, Rudy the reindeer, an elf and the Grinch.
They said the eight members hail from the North Pole.
But they also spend time in Iowa, Virginia and Minnesota.
Complaining slightly about the heat – it’s cooler than last year but considerably hotter than the North Pole – they laughed as Santa, who also goes by Mike Nosbisch, handed out candy canes.
“RAGBRAI is always a big holiday anyway,” he said. “So there you go.”
