There’s good news waiting for a RAGBRAI participant who lost his wedding band yesterday: A state trooper located the ring.

The problem is that the rider’s name and identity is unknown.

The man lost the ring near the intersection of Iowa highways 14 and 57 near Parkersburg on Thursday, said Sgt. Nathan Ludwig of the Iowa Department of Public Safety. Officers spoke with the man and know what he looks like but didn’t catch his name before he left, Ludwig said.

The department declined to issue a photo or general description of the ring to prevent wrongdoers. But Ludwig did say the ring is titanium.
