SSB3074 advanced through both a subcommittee and the full Ways and Means Committee this week. The bill is eligible for debate in the full Senate. A similar tax bill in the Iowa House, which does not include funding for the Trust Fund, passed a subcommittee.
SSB3074 makes the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) a statewide tax. There are provisions for LOST funding for those communities that have already enacted a LOST tax.
The Iowa Bicycle Coalition is in support of the Senate Bill because it provides funding to the Iowa Water and Land Legacy. We will be monitoring this bill as we move forward.
