YALE
According to Yale’s 245 residents, the town is “Not the Biggest, but the Best!” You can see for yourself as we ride through on our Monday route on our way to Perry from Harlan. Take a break and stop by Just Ethyl’s Bar and Grill, or grab a snack at Bell Street Market. On the Route Inspection Pre-Ride, we stretched our legs in the shade at the church. Yale is also a stop along the newly completed Raccoon River Valley Trail.
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP
Just a little way down the road from Yale, the Consolidated School for Washington Township will host Monday’s last stop. It is a Historic Landmark and Restoration Project. They are planning to serve cold sliced watermelon, which should hit the spot on a hot day of biking. Riders will have another 8 miles to Perry, so stop for one last treat!
