There is no single strategy to end fatal crashes of bicyclists. The Iowa Bicycle Coalition’s strategy includes:
- Safe passing distance law.
- Address reckless driving.
- Reduce drunk driving.
- Promote the use of lights at night.
- Improve driver education.
- Safety education for kids and adults.
- Improve bicycle infrastructure and adopt Iowa DOT bike plan.
- Assure laws are being enforced.
- Annually compile statistics
