Iowa Bike Summit

October 3 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm CDT

The Iowa Bike Summit is a gathering of bicycle enthusiasts, advocates, and professionals from across the state of Iowa. This year’s theme is: Building Resilience & Accelerating Community Connectivity In Iowa. It provides a platform for discussion and collaboration on a variety of topics related to bicycling, including infrastructure, policy, technology, and tourism. The summit aims to inspire, educate, and empower attendees to make Iowa a more bicycle-friendly state. It features keynote speeches, panel discussions, workshops, and networking opportunities. The summit is open to anyone who is interested in promoting bicycling as a means of transportation, recreation, and community building in Iowa.

Participants can participate in the post-conference bike ride on the Wabash Nature Trace Trail and reception on Thursday, Oct. 3. The reception will take place at Toby Jack’s Steakhouse in Mineola with the opportunity to network with the keynote speaker.

There is also an option to purchase a ticket for the keynote presentation only.

This event is occurring in conjunction with the Iowa Trails Summit on October 4th in Council Bluffs.

This year’s keynote speaker is Denise Mueller. Denise is a two-time Guinness World Record holder and the fastest human on a bicycle in the world at an impressive 183.9 mph—redefining the limits of human potential. She set the women’s land speed record on a bike in 2016 and broke the overall record in 2018. Her journey from a teenage cycling champion to a retired CEO and mother of three, then back to record-breaking athlete, is a compelling narrative of resilience and determination. Denise inspires audiences to pursue their own greatness.
