On February 19, Black Girls Do Bike – Des Moines Iowa will host the viewing of “The Shoulders of Giants” directed by Quinn Early. Eary, is a former Hawkeye and NFL football player. His documentary has won 2 awards already. The film tells the remarkable story of Frank ‘Kinney” Holbrook, and his contributions to the University of Iowa’s football team. Kinney, is Iowa’s first black collegiate athlete and he was from Tipton, IA.

In divisive times, Kinney’s story reminds us of what can be accomplished amidst all of the painful and difficult trials of life. Proceeds from the silent auction will be split between FKH Memorial Society programming and Ann Early Intervention Foundation. A flyer about the event details is attached.

We are excited to have Quinn Early, director; Josh Meier, Cofounder of Frank “Kinney” Holbrook Memorial Society; and Charles Pearson, Research Historian, CEO of Pearson Consulting will be in attendance that Saturday, February, 19 from 2:00-4:30 p.m.

Look forward to seeing you. Feel free to share and post on your SM platforms and with your networks. I have included links for the movie trailer, Memorial Society, and Ann Early Intervention Foundation for review. Thank you!
