A lot can happen on two wheels. When he was just starting out, DISH Network founder Charlie Ergen towed satellite dishes along the mountain roads of Colorado to his first customers. Often times, the satellite dish was perched atop two wheels behind a car or ATV. DISH, with headquarters in Colorado, is making its debut at RAGBRAI this year and while we won’t be towing satellite dishes with our bikes, we’ll be at all the overnight towns in the entertainment areas supporting the cyclists on top of two wheels.

And by the way, from the Rockies to Rock Valley, Colorado and Iowa have more in common than most cyclists realize. Both host a more than 400-mile bike ride each year (Ride the Rockies and RAGBRAI). Both are home to famous Johns (John Deere and John Denver). And both are pursuing the Healthiest State Initiative, part of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index®. We think climbing on a bike is a great way to get healthy, see the state and celebrate what we have in common. Just let us tow the satellite dishes.
