Team Nederlandse Mafia is going Dutch at RAGBRAI.

For the eight members of Nederlandse Mafia, being Dutch is a proud part of their tradition.

“It’s a throwback to our heritage,” said Clark DeVries, 28 of Sioux Center.

The group decked out their bus with heritage flags, but not to forget their Iowan roots, they also proudly mounted an Iowa State flag on the top.

Before the group first acquired their bus, it was a typical yellow color. However, the new shade, “is much better,” DeVries said.

Last year, the team formed and rode together for their first RAGBRAI. This year, they’re excited to get away for a week and enjoy what Iowa has to offer.

“We like to ride our bikes, but we also like the night life,” DeVries said.
