At the Iowa Bicycle Coalition, we’re committed to creating Good Rides across Iowa. When you register for one of our four IBC rides, you’re not just signing up for a great day on the bike. Your participation fuels advocacy at the Capitol and across the state to protect safe road access, improve infrastructure, and ensure policies support riders of all ages and abilities.

Pigtails Ride
May 16th, 2026 - High Trestle Trail
A fun, springtime 48-mile ride celebrating women, friendship, and strength along the stunning High Trestle Trail.
This bike ride is designed exclusively for women of all riding levels and takes you along one of the Midwest’s most stunning routes – the High Trestle Trail. Starting and ending in Ankeny, Iowa, the ride winds through scenic prairie landscapes and leads to the iconic High Trestle Bridge, where unforgettable views (and photos!) await. Expect a supportive, welcoming community, pigtails flying in the spring breeze, party stops along the way with drink specials, and a complimentary lunch at in Madrid.
Wild Wild Western Ride
June 6th, 2026 - Great Western Trail
Grab your bike and giddy up for the Wild Wild Western Ride – kick up some dust on the legendary Great Western Trail!
Saddle up at Middlebrook Farm for the new Wild Wild Western Ride, brought to you by the Iowa Bicycle Coalition in partnership with Middlebrook! Ride the legendary Great Western Trail where cowboys meet cruisers for boots, bikes, and big frontier fun. Round up your posse, strap on your helmet, and enjoy food and drinks along the route as you blaze the trail. With western flair, wide-open paths, and a rootin’-tootin’ good time from start to finish, this is your chance to roll Western-style and make miles of smiles on the Great Western Trail.
Bacoon Ride
June 20th, 2026 - Racoon River Valley Trail
Ride the RRVT. Eat bacon. Repeat. Iowa’s tastiest day on two wheels – the Bacoon Ride!
The Bacoon Ride brings bikes, bacon scenic trails, and small-town charm together for Iowa’s most delicious day on two wheels. This wildly popular annual event cruises through several central Iowa towns along the beautiful Raccoon River Valley Trail (RRVT). At every stop, riders are greeted with mouthwatering bacon-themed food and drinks, turning a scenic spin into a sizzling celebration of flavor. Whether you’re here for the miles, the memories, or the crispy goodness, the Bacoon Ride delivers an unforgettable experience that draws cyclists from across the country year after year.
Big Rove Ride
Jue 27th, 2026 - Cedar Rapids and Iowa City
Rove the scenic trails of Eastern Iowa and roll straight into the party at Big Grove Brewery on the Big Rove Ride.
Get ready for a 36-mile summertime ride built for sunshine, scenic trails, and serious good times. Choose your start at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City or Cedar Rapids, then rove your own way along beautiful eastern Iowa river trails to a midpoint celebration in Solon. With a flexible, dual-start format and plenty of ways to make the miles your own, this is your day to wander, roll, and soak up the summer. Big Rove blends laid-back adventure with party energy—cruise with friends, chase the sunshine, and finish with a well-earned Big Grove brew. However you route it, you’ll rove the trails by day and raise a glass by the end.
