DESCRIPTION:2026 marks the 22nd year that BIKEIOWA has been hosting the Ride of Silence in Des Moines.\n\nJoin cyclists nationwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on Iowa’s public roadways. 6:30 pm -7:00 pm – various speakers and crowd participation to share why they come to the Ride of Silence and for who. Ride starts at 7:00 pm sharp. Check out the 2025 Ride of Silence Video\n\nwww.rideofsilence.org\n\nWhy does this ride exist?\n\nTo HONOR those who have been injured or killed\nTo RAISE AWARENESS that we are here\nTo ask that we all SHARE THE ROAD\n\n\nTHE RIDE OF SILENCE WILL NOT BE QUIET On May 20th\, the Ride of Silence will roll across the country\, starting at 7:00 pm. Over 250+ U.S.locations in 45+ states and 30+ countries in 4+ continents will take to the roads in a silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured while cycling on public roadways.
